Civil & Human Rights Scholarship Program

The Civil and Human Rights scholarship program is designed to assist   students in obtaining post- secondary education.    Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2019.

                  Eligibility for the USW Civil and Human Rights Committee Scholarship program

1)Available to all full-time students,  who are children of active  USW Local 10-00086 members

2)Student must be attending post-secondary education in the 2018/2019 school year.  Preference will be given to entering freshman.  Graduate students not eligible.  Awarded monies will be paid to attending college, university, or trade school (school must be based in the United States, Canada or one of the US territories).  If student does not attend within the 2018/2019 school year, all monies will be credited back to the scholarship fund.

3)Official transcript with seal and/ or authorizing signature required.

4)Student must not have previously won the USW Local 10-00086 Civil and Human Rights Committee Scholarship.

5)Completed applications must be delivered to the USW Local 10-00086 Union’s office on Merck’s West Point site by 12:00pm on April 1, 2019.
