Monday Morning Member Spotlight

Written on 12/11/2023

Let's kick off this week by featuring one of our valued members, Spencer Fisher, whose charismatic personality and quick-witted banter make him stand out. Spencer has been part of our community for 24 years and currently holds a Support Associate Working lead position in Dept 241 in Sterile Supply Building 12. Here's what Spencer would like our membership to know about him:

"I embarked on my union journey here in January 1999 – my 25th Christmas with the union is just around the corner! It feels like time has flown by, akin to a summer vacation. My career trajectory was evident early on, influenced by my father's tenure at the steel plant in Conshohocken. With the support of my Big Sis Dawn, another USW member who holds a Clerk role in Building 38, I persevered through 3 years and 30 applications to secure my spot! (Never accept 'no' as an answer).

Being part of a union comes with its highs and lows, much like any other job. However, within this union, I've been able to build a family, purchase a home, witness my daughter's graduation from Temple University, and perhaps enjoy a little extra cheese on my sandwich from time to time! 😊 Regardless of race, religion, gender, or age – whether you're a seasoned professional or a newcomer – I've forged meaningful friendships along the way.

Outside of work, my heart belongs to my family – my wife Jocelyn, my daughter Alia, and my son Spencer Jr. Even though I don't currently reside in Conshohocken, I'll always be a Conshy guy, born and raised. If you happen to spot Spencer on-site, feel free to introduce yourself, but be prepared to chat for a while; he's quite the talker!" πŸ˜‰
