This week, we shine a spotlight on the incredible journey of Matt Gallagher, whose union involvement at Merck has not only opened doors for his family but has also provided invaluable opportunities for networking and forging new connections. Through my 22 years at Merck, starting in Building 1's Print Shop and evolving into a Support Associate in Building 12, I've gained essential lessons in training, problem-solving, effective communication, and collaboration with large groups.

My roots trace back to Cheltenham, Abington High School, and my current home in Hilltown, Pennsylvania, after a stint in Chalfont. As the youngest of nine siblings, family holds immense significance in my life. I'm proud to be a father to four wonderful kids, including twin boys Austin and Nick (29), and daughters Samantha (23) and Charlee (8). Together with my girlfriend, Stephanie Traub, of nine years, we share our home with three beloved dogs – Norman, Brutus, and Carrie. Our leisure time is best spent at the campground, creating cherished memories.

Beyond the realms of family and work, I proudly serve as a volunteer firefighter/engineer at both the Merck Fire Department and the Hilltown Volunteer Fire Department. If you happen to spot me around the site or at the firehouse, don't hesitate to say hi and share a moment.
