Please Call and Write to U.S. Senator Toomey

Sisters and Brothers,
Today is the first day that many of our union sisters and brothers who hold U.S. government jobs will not be paid. We’ve sent the attached letter to Senator Toomey on behalf of our affiliate members, and we encourage you to send a letter from your unions as well.
We encourage Senator Toomey to support House Resolution 21, which would include funding for all federal agencies except for the Department of Homeland Security through December 2019. In addition, we urge Senator Toomey to support H.J. Res. 1, which would fund the Department of Homeland Security through February 8. This would give the Senate Republicans and Democrats time to negotiate border security, while lifting the government
 partial shutdown so that all federal employees are paid on time.
