We continue to have members disciplined and terminated for alleged documentation falsification. Whether or not these allegations are true it is imperative that members understand what they are liable for when signing off on documents. To that end we are reprinting a previous Documentation Alert below from November 2008. Remember: proper documentation is critical to our future and the well-being of our customers. If you are unsure about what you are signing off on, STOP, seek out supervision and ask for clarification.
Local leadership wishes to strongly remind members of the following: do NOT falsify any documentation whatsoever at any time; do NOT sign for any work you have NOT performed; do NOT knowingly sign for anything that would violate an SOP; do NOT sign any documentation for anyone, including a supervisor, that you do not understand. If at any time you are asked by another employee or a supervisor to sign for documentation falsely in order to meet a production need, contact your shop steward or the union office immediately. In the event you cannot reach a steward or the office, use the contact menu for phone numbers that appear on the left hand side of this announcement. Failure to follow the above criteria can result in your dismissal and hinders our ability to be a productive work site. Please share this information with other members. REMEMBER: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES FALSIFY ANY DOCUMENTATION. Our jobs and our futures depend on strict adherence to this compliance issue. |

The Negotiating Committee met again with our law firm this past Wednesday to clarify a few remaining issues regarding affected employees and benefits. That process was completed. The Committee then submitted their response to the Company's lawyers. The Committee understands the frustration of membership regarding the finalization of contract details, as well as the signing bonus, but asks for member patience during this difficult time. |

The Negotiating Committee met again with our law firm and then the Company to clarify language in regards to about ten items in the contract. These meetings took place Tuesday, July 20th. There are still issues about what some of the language actually means. Once the language is clarified, the contract will be signed, and signing bonuses will be released. |

After a discussion with members of the Compliance Teams President Parente would like to convey the following. In April the Union stated that participation in Compliance would end immediately due to the contentious nature of negotiations. As of now, anyone wishing to resume working with the Company regarding Compliance is welcome to do so. Anyone wishing to end their participation is likewise welcome to step down. It is a personal choice to made by each member.
Regarding all things Safety: The Union's stance remains that safety affects the well-being of our membership and requires our continued active involvement. |
